Merchandising and Selling your Soy Candles:
Congratulations on making it through my somewhat torturous
documentation on soy candles! You are part of a select few who have a ton
of patience with my "not so professional" writing skills.
Anyway, you may be wondering "I have created soy votives, containers, soy
pillar candles, and now I want to try and sell them."
I can definitely point you in a few directions that may help.
First things first,... you need opinions and/or ideas for you newly
created soy products. Make some soy candles and give them to your friends,
family, and co-workers. Make sure to tell them to be honest with you and
get their opinions and thoughts.
If you truly enjoy candle making and you are looking for some supplemental
income, try selling some at a local craft show or marketplace. This is a
good place to meet people and get customer feedback.
If you want to move a step further, consider opening a website and selling
your candles online. This is a good way to broaden your range. It is a
tough market however, and you must have competitive products and prices to
survive! If you are not familiar with websites, how to start one, etc, I
can help there as well. Currently I host around 35 websites, and it is
something I enjoy. I have an e-commerce solution that is best suited for
those folks who don't want to worry about maintaining or writing a
website. The cost is $20 per month, and the website is basically managed
through a control panel which allows you to upload images and add products
and categories to your store.
Email me
for more details, or have a look at

see.
Remember when you open a website, be it through me or another hosting
company, the most important thing to do is promote your website. This can
be a matter of submitting your website to search engines, exchanging links
with other websites... including soywaxcandles.org ;-) and possibly even
looking into pay-per-click advertising, or purchasing banner
advertisements from related websites. There is a lot you can do to promote
your new website, it will just take time to do it. Remember it may take a
couple months for your site to get visitors. Popular sites do not happen
overnight and it could take a year or so before you start getting a lot of
traffic. The more you promote, the more traffic your site will attract.
If you would like to take your candle business further, it may be time to
move to an international market! I have gotten interested folks from other
countries, mainly the UK who would like larger shipments of candles,
however my time does not permit me to handle such orders.
I wish you all the best,
visit
