Essential Oils in Soy Candles:

I have gotten quite a few emails regarding testing of essential oils with soy wax.  I too have been wanting to do some testing with essential oil not only for those of you who have requested me to test it, but also for myself.

Anyway, I finally found a supplier with quality products for a reasonable price.  Too bad I had to go to India (not literally, but that is where we found this supplier) to find someone!  Anyway, when I say quality, believe me!  I was a little skeptical until I opened the peppermint oil and took a big whiff.  This stuff is pure, uncut essential oil and it is strong!

The good news is two-fold.  Part 1 is I am going to be testing this stuff and posting my results here.  Part 2 is the fact that I am going to make it available to those of you who visit our site!  I am not going to take a ton of profit for it... I'll leave that for the folks who sell the stuff for a living!

Anyway... forget about paying $3.50 for a half-ounce of the stuff.  I was selling the essential oils on my candle site for $2.50 per ounce.  Unfortunately, I can't offer it at the moment.

I have tested with the essential oils, and all I can say is "Wow!"  My instructions for manufactured fragrance oil calls for 1 ounce oil per 16 ounces of melted wax.  I achieved better results with these essential oils by using 1/4 ounce essential oil per 16 ounces of melted wax.  When I say better results, I am talking about the burn quality as well as the fragrance throw.  Another benefit to consider: when using essential oils, you gain the "healing" power of the oil not achieved by using manufactured oil.

As a business owner, the initial benefit that I see is that an 8 ounce bottle of essential oil should last as long as a 32 ounce bottle of manufactured oil.  This makes the essential oil cheaper to use in most situations!!  The second benefit I see is the fact that you are using a "natural" product and not something derived from various chemicals.  That part is important when trying to promote the health benefits of using soy wax in candles!

Currently we have tested the following pure essential oils with soy wax:

bulletCitronella
bulletOrange
bulletLemongrass
bulletEucalyptus
bulletPeppermint
bulletCedar wood
bulletYlang Ylang
bulletPatchouli
bulletBergamot
bulletLavendar

If you are interested in any of these essential oils for your soy candles, please email me.  Also be aware that since these products are coming from overseas, delivery time may take 10-12 business days if you purchase from me. Until we get more essential oils in stock, check out Pure Essential Oils to learn more about the health benefits of essential oils not only in soy candles!
